A repeat performance of
Dastan-e Chauboli
Adapted & Dir. Mahmood Farooqui.
Performed by - Danish Husain & Mahmood Farooqui.
Based on the version created by Vijaydan Detha.
Princess Chauboli has vowed that she will only marry a man who can make her speak four times in one night. Seventeen times twenty-four princes have tried and failed and are now rotting in the dungeon grinding fodder for horses. A brave and valiant Thakur, one who shoots 108 arrows through his wife's nose-ring every day, wishes to try his luck. What happens to him? How will Chouboli be won? Containing a story within a story within a story, some of them pan India favorites, Chouboli is a funny, bitter, sarcastic and lyrical take on Indian life. The repeat performance is happening after rave reviews and repeated requests from fans for the same. Tickets available at the Programme desk. An Old World Culture and Lata Bhasin presentation.

Amazing performance. We were 5 people who cam together of all ages and each one of us was mesmerised with your rendition. Absolutely loved Chauboli and your entertainment quotient compared to a great film is 50:1. Keep coming back to Gurgaon!

Please come back to Gurgaon.
The Dastan-e-chouboli @ Gurgaon on 12th Feb, a very mesmerising folk story told in the Best possible way. Loved it,worth the time spent for it.
The performance yesterday was spellbinding and had us at the edge of our seats...thank you for bringing Dastangoi to Gurgaon and I do do hope we will see you both perform again many times.
Javed, Jayanti and others, many many thanks.
Nandini, well done, I have always thought so but the public refuses to bite--we like to bring blockbusters on stage but I hope we will escape our 'Shaan' although Tagore is pushing us nearly there
