Dastangoi at Humayun's Tomb

Team Dastangoi, 
in association with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture,
invites you to celebrate the World Heritage Day

The morning will begin with a heritage walk of the Humayun’s Tomb complex led by youth volunteers from the community of Nizamuddin Basti.

This will be followed by a dastangoi performance by our newest performing pair of young dastangos:

Affan and Aamir
They will present
Dastan Amir Hamza aur Amar Ayyaar ke Bachpan ki
about the childhood of Amir Hamza and Amar Ayyaar. The story is all about their experience in a madarsa, where they were sent for education at the tender age of five.

A quiz and painting competition on the theme heritage and environment will be organized in parallel sessions.

a narrative on the life, times and works of Amir Khusrau Dehlavi - the courtier and poet of the medieval Delhi Sultanate.

announces a Dastangoi workshop 
for third generation Dastangos

- Only those wishing to perform Dastangoi professionally should reply

- Interested candidates should write to Manu Sikander Dhingra (manusikander@yahoo.com) and register

- Up to twenty people will be selected 

- Those selected will be expected to perform at least thirty shows of Dastangoi in Delhi and other places for free

- Those wishing to participate should get hold of the Urdu/Hindi Dastangoi books (published by Rajkamal) and read it.

20th, 21st and 22nd January10 am to 5 pm
At The Attic (Regal Building, CP, Delhi)

Participants must take care of their own meals.
